MEET OUR AMAZING CELEBRANTS
At Celebration of Life Events, we have chosen to work with celebrants who share the same philosophy as us, who are experienced, and believe that a celebration of life event is about honouring the person and the life they led in a truly genuine and meaningful way.
Meet Alys
Originally from the beautiful country of Wales, Alys now calls Melbourne home. She finds joy in dancing—whether in her living room or on stage—along with collecting vinyl records, exploring local markets, and discovering new places through travel and hiking. Life is an adventure, and Alys is here to celebrate every moment of it!
Why did you become a celebrant?
My love for getting to know people’s stories made becoming a celebrant a natural calling. It beautifully combines my skills as a therapist with my passion for storytelling. I believe that every person has a unique story that deserves to be told and remembered, and I’m honoured to weave these stories into meaningful ceremonies that celebrate love and life.
What makes you different?
As a therapist, I’ve had the privilege of supporting families through challenging times, including those facing terminal diagnoses and grief during my work with the not-for-profit Canteen. This experience has given me a deep understanding of the sensitivity and emotions involved in honouring a loved one’s life. I create warm, heartfelt ceremonies that celebrate each story in a meaningful way.
Why are you excited to work with Celebration of Life Events?
In my work with bereaved clients, I’ve come to appreciate just how much it means to share our feelings and ask those important questions while we can, avoiding the sadness that can come from things left unsaid. For the honouree, these ceremonies are a precious gift, allowing them to feel the love of family and friends while still present. Everyone deserves to be part of their own greatest celebration, and hearing how much they are cherished can bring joy, peace, and a sense of closure for both them and their loved ones. Facilitating these ceremonies for families at Celebrant of Life Events is an incredible privilege.
Meet Siobhan
Meet Siobhan one of our amazing celebrants. With a passion for vintage fashion, entertaining and town planning business you’ll find she’s different – in the best way.
We sat down with Siobhan to ask her why she became a celebrant.
When my mum passed away, we had a beautiful day remembering everything we loved about her and the person she was. I feel it really helped me with the grieving process. I find now every time we talk about mum it really feels like she is present. I want to be able to deliver this experience for others and help our greater community normalize passing.
How are you different?
As a celebrant if we are paying tribute to someone, I like to make sure we cast the net a little wider and find stories and anecdotes from people outside their immediate circle. We want to engage the whole community that supported and cared for this person. I feel this validates people’s feelings across the community.
Also, if that person loved dogs, let’s include their dogs in the service. Let’s also make sure the littlest people get to have their say about their grandparent or loved one.
Why are you excited to work with Celebration of Life Events
The opportunity to perform services for people who are still living is such a wonderful opportunity. Celebrating their life while they are present gives us so much scope to make it a beautiful memorable day.
